Your favorite role playing game?
Im kinda getting into it now:P I haven't played to many so far, but I simply loved Knights of the old Republic and Final Fantasy X.
I have been following a single player RPG on the way that is called The Witcher, which I think looks cool. www.thewitcher.com <.<
What about you mates? Do you have any recommendations?

Anarchy Online. It's a Mass Multiplayer, but it's still an RPG.

I'm an RPG junkie lol so it's hard to narrow it down to one or two favorites. Thankfully there are so many great RPGs out there, both new and old. Here's a bunch of my faves, in no particular order:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (first one's easily the best but second one is good, too)
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Baldur's Gate series (one of my all-time faves, such an incredible story and memorable characters)
Jade Empire
Suikoden III
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Gladius
Kingdom Hearts
Planescape: Torment (a bit wordy but some of the quirkiest, coolest characters you'll ever encounter in a game)
Skies of Arcadia: Legends
Icewind Dale
Dark Cloud 2
There are a few others but those stand out in my mind, out of the ones I've played anyway. I'd recommend Baldur's Gate if you haven't played those yet. The graphics are outdated now but the story, spells, characters and enemies are so awesome that it's worth playing.

Planescape: Torment, eh? Anath, among others, are a real blast from that game. BG was great for its openness before you go to BG proper, but BG2 and Throne of Bhaal take the cake. Nalia was my favorite, as well as Haer'Dalis, Mazzy, Imoen, Edwin Odesseiron, and Jan Jansen.

Three in the first series by that name, way back when. The recent one you're thinking of has nothing in common with them besides the name.

Final Fantasy X International. Not for the awful storyline, but for the monster fight with Penance.
Tales of Symphonia, too. Hate the storyline, enjoy the really really challenging boss fight stuffs.

I like chrono trigger Final fantasy 7 through 9, especially tactics. Xenogears was really really good, but xenosaga was kinda boring. Dark ages of camelot, but thats an MMO.

I really want to try that new Dragon Quest 8. I never played that series before, and everyone says it's great. Too bad it won't be out for quite a while here in europe.

Yeah P: T was funny, interesting, and very original and even though it took me a few starts to get into it (I kept putting it aside and returning to it), once you get used to the loooong dialogue trees, it's a great game. Even though it used an isometric view like BG, the graphics were actually better in many areas because the camera was zoomed in further by default, and the varied designs of creatures, NPCs, and the environments made it a visually impressive game.
I agree about BG2 and Throne of Bhaal. BG1 was good but 2 really took things to a whole new level. It was darker, more mysterious, more dangerous and far more epic.
My favorite was Imoen and I have to say that even though Minsc was often annoying with his battle cries, you couldn't help but laugh at the disjointed speech.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who enjoyed playing these games.
